Instructions for sending digital photos as jpeg or gif files attached to Email

Most Email programs allow you to "attach" your photograph gif or jpeg file to an Email message. Type the information text into the message area.

If you are not experienced with making image files for the web, we will be happy to "webify" any jpg you send us. We prefer to get images with at least 150 pixels per inch resolution that measure at least 4" wide. Larger is better than smaller.

If your image is larger than 1mb in size, it is best to "Stuff" (MacIntosh systems use "StuffIT") or "Zip"(IMB type systems use "PKzip" or "WinZip") the file first. This makes the size of the file smaller by compressing the code.

If you happen to have an America Online Account, you can easily attach a file to AOL email. Our webmaster has an AOL account. You do not need to worry about "stuffing" it, or "binary hexing". Just send the email to: readhead01 (that is: zero one) and email us at pillion@urly.com so we will know to look there for them.

If you do not have access to a personal digital image scanner, you can get photos scanned at KMart, Kinko's and many "drug stores" that have the Kodak scanning booth.

If your location is so rural that you do not have any access to a place to get the photos digitally scanned, we can scan them for you. Email us and we will work it out.
